Somewhere between Chaco Canyon and Farmington, New Mexico you encounter the Bisti Badlands.  This is an area that would make you think that you are walking on the moon, but it occupies a small part of old Navajo land.  Hoodoos abound, as do some well worn red rock hills.  It is a magic place where you can feel the ancient ones.  The badlands are only occasionally interrupted by a power line, where yesterday and today seem to merge.
